Hello, Poetry Friend
A few years ago our son introduced us to the YouTube interview show called Hot Ones. The interviewer, Sean Evans, is fantastic, and I say this as someone who interviews people for a living. The idea is simple: ask celebrities questions while they eat increasingly spicy chicken wings (or cauliflower, for the veggie-lovers).
So John bought the box of official Hot Ones sauces, we poured our almond milk, and we took on the “wings of death” and lived to tell the tale.
Here’s the YouTube link to our video.
In November, we both launched new writing projects. John began a Substack called Parents of the Bible, prayerfully looking at nearly 50 parents from across the Old and New Testaments.
Meanwhile, Wipf and Stock released my new poetry collection, Love and other Mysteries, inspired by Song of Solomon and the twenty Mysteries of the Rosary.
And if you happen to be in Fredericksburg, Texas, on Wednesday, January 29, come by Texas Heritage Vineyard from 5-6:30 p.m. for my BOOK LAUNCH PARTY and BIRTHDAY PARTY. There will be wine and birthday cake. There will not be any hot sauces, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Stay spicy! and Happy poeming!
Megan
This is awesome. I can’t believe you could sing after eating hot sauce!
Oh, Megan, how this made me smile--you and John are no end of creative! Celebrating book launch day (early!) from afar. xo
