Hello, Poetry Friend
Today I offer you a mashup: the psalm from Palm Sunday — Psalm 22 — when we read the entire Passion narrative (this year, from the Gospel of Mark) and Rufino Zaragoza’s song “O Silent God,” which we will sing on Good Friday. They go together so well.
Here’s the text of Psalm 22. And here’s my poem, incorporating the refrain that I sang raised my arms and invited the congregation to sing as well. God only known who sang along (besides Jesus).
