Hello, Poetry Friend
Last week I shared the work of a Poetry Friend, Jody Collins. As with all poetry collections, her poems inspire me to compose my own.
Right now most of the trees in my neighborhood are bare, and it’s a great time to walk because I can see bird nests. Usually I listen to audiobooks on walks, but sometimes I let my mind wander and let the poetry take over. This poem is not about a bird or a nest, but it was composed while looking at both.
In Jody’s poem "What Had Been Lost," she writes,"I leave my prayers in odd places, too." That led me to think about where I leave mine:
