Hello, Poetry Friend
Sending you summer breezes and a third poem, also published in The Clayjar Review’s summer issue.
It’s one of those poems that’s been bumping around for about a year. It began with a photograph of a double rainbow. Part of what I wrote then was worth keeping, and part needed the addition of inspiration from another poem, “A List of Praises” by Anne Porter.

FOUR NOTES ONLY title from “A List of Praises,” by Anne Porter Her foot still broken, six weeks later. Healing, like reconciliation, takes long summer days. All desert roads—gravel. All floors—precarious Saltillo tile. –Megan Willome read the rest of the poem in the Summer Breeze issue of The Clayjar Review
Do you have a photo that’s been begging to become a poem?
Is there a poem that can help you bring yours home?
Happy poeming!

Lovely, Megan. Like Laura, I love the sparrow's surprise appearance. And I relate to the hazards of precious tile and gravel. Diagnosed with multiple myeloma 1 1/2 yrs ago, I have multiple bone lesions that make me a high risk for fractures. Needless to say, I'm very, very careful. =)
Curiosity led me to search for Anne Porter's poem, as well. I've had her book Living Things saved in my amazon acct. for....several years. I think it's time I finally ordered it.
I love that little wayward white-throated sparrow!
